WELCOME TO CCL
THIS IS THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY OF LONDON
"To fulfill the vision and mission of Jesus Christ: 'Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,' as inspired by Matthew 28:19, we aim to be a radiant beacon of Christ's love and light, guiding people of all backgrounds toward a deep, transformative relationship with God."
"Following the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19, our mission is to make disciples by sharing the gospel and nurturing committed followers of Christ, embracing all nations, and serving with Christ's love. We gather in worship and prayer, equip believers for spiritual growth, foster unity, and impact lives for God's glory through hope, transformation, and salvation."
We are wholeheartedly committed to living out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, as outlined in Matthew 28:19-20. Our vision is to transform lives and communities by following a structured path of "Win, Consolidate, Discipleship, and Send," which consists of the following steps: "Pre-Encounter, Encounter, Post-Encounter, School of Leaders, and Ready to Form Disciples."
Step 1
WIN
Our journey begins with winning hearts for Christ. We fervently share the Gospel, reaching out to those who have yet to experience the transforming love of Jesus. Pre-Encounter involves sowing the seeds of faith and nurturing a hunger for spiritual awakening.
Step 2
CONSOLIDATE
Step 3
DISCIPLESHIP
School of Discipleship: Discipleship is at the heart of our vision. We believe in equipping and empowering believers to become strong, mature leaders. Our School of Discipleship is a hub of learning, growth, and practical ministry training. Through this, we aim to raise up leaders who exemplify Christ's love, wisdom, and servanthood.
Step 4
SEND
Ready to Form Disciples: As individuals complete the School of Discipleship, they are equipped and prepared to be sent out as disciples who, in turn, form more disciples. We envision a community where each member actively engages in the Great Commission, spreading the Gospel, and helping others embark on their own spiritual journeys.
The founders, Edmundo and Arsenia Ravelo, heeded God's call to missions and left Peru for London, guided by the missionary organization NEWMA.Their intended destination was Spain, but they arrived in London in 1979. They established the CCL - Christian Community of London in 1985, starting with a few families.
Through small family groups, they pioneered one of London's first Spanish-speaking churches, eventually forming CCL Community Groups. The church rapidly grew to nearly 1000 members in under 3 years, meeting in homes across multicultural London.Their mission was to create leaders and prepare missionaries, accomplished through the School of Discipleship.
The church expanded its services, now leading 5 bilingual and
one English service. A youth service called 'IMPACT' unites young people for worship and change-making.
Their missionary spirit led to daughter churches globally, including 5 in Spain and 1 in Ecuador. Despite Pastor Arsenia's passing in 2021, her legacy endures. The church has embraced the call to spread the Gospel worldwide while nurturing disciples.
